How Can I Say I Love You?

I could write it in the night sky with a million stars,
and it wouldn't match the light in your eyes.

I could cast it in
the purest gold,
and it wouldn't be as precious as your smile.
__________

I could teach the birds
to sing it in a thousand different songs,
and it wouldn't sound as sweet as your voice.

I could forge it of the strongest metals,
and it wouldn't compare
with your faith and loyalty.
__________

I could sew it into a quilt made from the softest
down and finest flannel,
and it wouldn't be as soft as
your touch.
__________

I could build it into a fire of
hickory and oak,
and it wouldn't be as warm as when I'm in your arms.
__________

I could tell it to every man,
woman, and child,
and I wouldn't have told
enough people.
__________

I could use all these ways to
say I Love You,
and it still wouldn't be enough.
__________

So I'll simply tell you,
when ever the mood strikes,
when ever the feeling arises,
when ever we're alone,
when ever we're in a crowd.
Every day and all the days we have
to share on this earth.
I LOVE YOU
